Hair Stylist Lindsey – I normally don't post reviews on these sites but after reading retau's review, I felt a need to respond. I can't speak of her experience but I must say from personal experience, I'm really surprised and shocked about her comments and I'm sorry she feels this way. I would not hesitate (and I do almost weekly) to refer someone to see Lindsey. Lindsey has been cutting my hair now for a few years. I actually left a "high price" salon after she cut my hair for me in a pinch. She has always done as good a job, as the high price stylist cutting my hair, even when she was just starting out. I used to travel all the way across town to have her cut my hair. I work in a professional public environment where clients are coming in and out everyday, so my appearance matters. Not a week goes by where I don't have at least one compliment on my hair. As women, we know how good that makes us feel. I have recommended many people to Lindsey and not one time have I heard someone complain--believe me my clients have no problem letting you know how they feel! If you're considering a hair cut at Trendsetters, I can say confidently, she'll do a great job.
Horrible experience! – for both times I was there the place was empty...and I should had followed my guts...Lindsey was my stylist and she really didn't know what she was doing!!! cmmon just a simple straight hair cut...she couldn't do it right!!! if everybody else had a good experience, I'm really surprised...maybe it was my bad luck to get that stylist.
Best Salon I've Visted – Before visiting Trendsetters, I was a client at Noelyne's -- and hated it. I like Trendsetters because they are not pretentious in any way, which I've realized is an embarrassing problem in Fayetteville. This does not mean that Trendsetters is anything like a madwacker or fantastic sams; Trendsetters is an actual quality salon with a pleasant, genuine staff of people who get excited about hair and making you look good. They don't try and bully you into buying products or getting things you don't want. I had my hair colored and cut by Yong. She was wonderful. When I sat down, she said "Let's make you look gorgeous!". She did not talk to other stylist of get distracted. She focused on my hair and making me comfortable the entire 2 hours. She did a great job. My boyfriend can't get over how great my hair looks. We used to live in Charlotte and I bounced around all the Aveda products salons hoping to get a really great haircut. I never did. I seemed to stay stuck in the same hair funk. From now on I will only visit Yong at Trendsetters. This is the best haircut of my entire life and it was a really nice experience.
The hotness – I have been going to Trendsetters for about 2 years now and about 6months ago my regular stylist left. I decided to continue going to Trendsetters 1) its location, very close to my house and 2) atmosphere, everyone is always happy and laid back. It is a good thing i stayed because my new stylist Jen?? is outstanding. I have yet to have a bad hair cut (knock on wood).
AWESOME STYLISTS MOVED! – Courtney, Nicole, & Miranda are now @ Fredericks Hair Designs, 4011 Sycamore Dairy Rd :)
Amazing – Great service, nice place. jennifer is wonderful and helped me get the great style I have.. This place rocks
Wish I'd found them years ago! – I just tried this place out after reading the reviews here, and was very happy with Sue. She's the only one I interacted with, so I can't speak to the helpfulness of the rest of the staff, but I loved her. I usually have a hard time getting someone to really listen to what I'm saying vs. what they THINK I should be saying. I like a sort of cross between a pixie and a super-short graduated bob, with tons of texture, asymmetrical bangs and a few longer strands here and there. I have super-thick hair and a rather odd natural hairline that most stylists don't want to deal with -- they want to either shave the nape of my neck to the skin with the clippers or try to convince me to grow the hair there out longer than I like.. Sue gave me exactly what I asked for on the first try, and I couldn't be happier with my hair. She's not a big conversationalist, so if you want the "girlfriend experience" you might want to try someone else -- but I'm looking for good hair, not a new best friend.
I have no idea what the person who was complaining about the goth decor saw -- sure, there are black accents, but that goes for the vast majority of salons out there. The decor is definitely more Kirkland's than goth.
PROS: Sue listened to what I wanted and gave it to me. I got an appointment quickly, was seen on time, she didn't try to "upsell" me into more expensive services, and most importantly, I LOVE my haircut.
CONS: No footrests on the chairs, so average-to-short ladies feet will dangle. Their credit card machine doesn't let you add in the tip on your receipt; you have to tell them how much you want added on there before they swipe it...and since it's your stylist that's the one ringing you up, that all seems pretty awkward to me.
No Complaints Here! – I am very picky with my hair. I have fine/thin hair, so I am very pick and cautious with any salon I go to. I am always worried that they won't listen to what, they will cut too much, or burn my hair, etc. So, when I find someone who does a great job, I stick with them. I have found that place at Trendsetters. My stylist took the time to LISTEN to exactly what I wanted and took all my concerns to heart. She did exactly what I asked and I have to say I have always left a happy customer. The price is very reasonable as well. I don't usually write reviews, but as a newbie to the area, I didn't know where to go, and I started reading reviews. I decided to give this place a try. So, if you are in the same boat, worry not, this place will take good care of your hair! =)
Best haircare! – I have been going there for a while and I have not seen ANYONE with ugly hair, and the owner is NOT mean/rude at all! dorothy123, you might be thinking of a different place, because I have NEVER had that happen when I get highlights or a haircut. The old place I used to go to gave me uneven cuts, but here that's way different. I can choose any style/cut, and they will do it for me! They are the BEST place I've been to before in my life!
And by the way their service is friendly, and there decor is not Gothic or that black. The outside is warm and inviting and so is the inside!
You are going way off-line with your story....
Trendsetters<3 – Trendsetters is in a great location, close to home not too far away at all. I didnt have to wait a single second to be brought back. They were all smiling and and the girl who cut my hair made conversation...it was like we were already great friends. I really liked how before she even touched my hair she asked what i was wanting to do with my hair. No one ever does that. And I was really pleased with the fact that she wasnt scissor happy at all!!! She really listened and I am really pleased with my hair. It looks fabulous!
