Joe's or Dick's?.
I've been to the local Joe's a few times and it is usually good. Maybe a little loud inside and a little goofy but good food. On this night I only waited a few minutes to be seated outside (where I wanted). The waiter came over threw the forks spoonse etc on the table (they bounced off the table and hit the floor) then sat down and said "I am kinda tired today, hope you don't mind if I sit here for a minute" (What? Really?) Then he sat there and stared at us while we started looking through the menu. After 5-7 minutes and several "do you know what you want yets" He said "I will get your drinks and be right back" He came back with our drinks (we were ready to order but didn't get the chance) and then stepped about 2 tables away and began having a conversation with another couple that was already eating while leaning against the hand rail. I looked at him a couple of times to get eye contact thinking he would know that we would like to order. He looked at me then walked right past us and back inside. We waited another 12 minutes after that then we got up and left. I had to look at the sign out front to make sure that I wasn't eating at the chain called Dick's that specializes in treating the customers badly. I have spoken to one or two friends that seem to have gotten the same waiter. I can't imagine going back

Will never return.
The wait staff was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. No wait to be seated with immediate attention. Unfortunately, the food for three of our four person party was intolerably salty. One of the party was sent an incorrect order. When the manager was made aware of it, she said "that's how it comes". The crab tasted old and only some of it was edible. From the mussels ordered, only half of the shells had anything in them. My friends and I agree to never return and will never recommend this place to anyone.

A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones..
In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.

Forget Red Lobster!.
If you are willing to part with the quiet atmosphere and two-hour weekend night waits, this is the place for you. If you like shrimp, they have an incredible sampler platter of four different cooking styles. Hush puppies are out of this world. Flexible dining room and a separate room allow them to accomodate a fairly decent size group (~ 30, I think).
