I went into David's bridal to buy my
dress on Feb 7, 2013. I narrowed my search down to three dresses in which my favorite one out of the three was to be tried on last. I was greeted with a kind smile and hello. I had to wait longer than I wanted to, even though I arrived to my appt 15 minutes prior, but that was due to one of the consultants going home terribly sick. This was no big deal as I was not in a rush. While I waited, I went and picked out the three dresses that I saw online. My consultant was Gretchen. The was by far the nicest consultant ever. Even though I knew which dress I was going to buy, she let me try on the other one first just to see how I liked them. She brought me all of the accessories that I needed (shoes, veil, sash, headband, undergarments, etc). I didn't have to do a thing except put on the dress. She was so friendly and personable. She even exchanged conversation with me while helping me into my dress as we had some things in common. She made my experience so pleasant. I did not really like the alteration lady, though. Gretchen gave me the hand mirror so that I could turn around to see the detailing on the back of the dress, and as I was started looking in the mirror, she interrupted and told me to turn around. Did not ask. She then got a little rude with a flamboyant type of " Uh, hello! Stop looking at your dress. I'm talking to you" type of wave in my face. After I finally turned around (after getting a good look at the back of the dress), she began discussing the alteration details that would need to be made for my dress. I needed to order it with extra length since I am tall. I thought it was so neat that when I said yes to my dress, Gretchen gave me a small bell to ring after I closed my eyes and made a wish for my wedding day. After selecting my veil, jewelry, hand band, and undergarments, I paid for my dress. I will be picking it up in May. I hope it will arrive sooner. However, my wedding is not until August of 2014. I have to say that I had the experience that I was hoping for (minus the alteration lady). It was fun, and Gretchen made me feel so special. When I go back for my brides maid dresses, I will be asking for her specifically. All of the other girls who were working there were all so very sweet. There is one with the coolest British accent ever, too! Thank you so much all of the nice ladies there that night.
P.S. It will really help you if you print off your favorite dresses, veils, haedbands, etc to try on. The print out will have the item number on it so you will be able to find it in the store by that. Don't expect to have your very own bridal consultant all to yourself as they are limited and help two brides during each one and a half our session. Any complaints about being put in a dress and then the consultant going to another bride should not be focused on because when you book your appt, they send a confirmation email, and it states that your consultant helps you and one other bride during your session. If you are looking to have a consultant all to yourself, then I would suggest booking a weeknight for a 7pm appt time. It is an hour and a half appt so you will finish up around 8:30pm. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and diddn't think I would use the whole hour and a half session and I did. One of the girls thanked me for coming in so prepared because it really does make it easier on them. I cannot wait to get my dress and go back for my brides maid dresses. Hopefully, I have a better experience with the alteration lady next time or I interact with a completely different alteration lady all together.
I've only been to David's Bridal once before back home in Chico, CA where I experienced GREAT service. I presumed going to the one in Fayetteville would be the same and was surely disappointed. My consultant was very nice BUT kept being pulled away from me by the manager and other consultants to do other things which made my experience well below average. If the wedding is my day and I'm coming to you for help then I don't expect to be passed around. I was very disappointed with my experience and personally I don't think I'll be venturing there again.
Love my consultant!. I recently visited a davids bridal in duluth ga and received almost no help! I decided to go in to the one in fayetteville since my best friend lives here. I felt like a queen! I didn't have to do anything! Asheley helped me find my dress and even helped me pick out my shoes and veil. She also introduced me to Cindy, who is so nice. Cindy helped me find a photographer and I am even thinking about doing invitations with them! I never knew Davids Bridal offered photography! I will be going back for my bridesmaids next month. The whole staff was friendly and really made my trip to their store fun! Thank you!
Despite the awful review below, I recently went to Davids and had a great experience. I had Yasmin as my first wedding consultant my firsit visit but she isnt there nemore and I was given jenna. GO TO JENNA! She was amazing and knew exactly what I wanted!!!!
I wasnt planning on purchasing but I fell in love with a gown that was being disconntinued so I found a way to buy that day. I AM SO HAPPY with my experience. I wasnt impressed during my first visit ( so maybe thats why there is other bad reviews) but jenna helped me find my dream gown!!

A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
Will never give them anymore $$$.
I did find THE dress there, but once they had my money all customer service went out the window. They tried to get me to order a size larger then I needed, they wouldn't help me try it on once it came in, they called and harassed me to pick it up, but it wasn't ready to be picked up when I came the next day, it was still in the box. On top of all that the cashier stole my mothers credit card number and rang up $500 worth of pizza and utilites on it before the bill came and my mother discovered the problem. I would not suggest ever shopping here. I will not be returning to purchase my bridesmaids dresses.
And by the way...David's sells your contact information to every mailing list they possibly can. I receive mail daily for wedding things from all over the country. I know it's from them since they had my last name screwed up and all this mail comes to the same wrong last name they had in their computer.
